THE Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) conducted a programme entitled, ‘Insight into Islamic Finance: Entrepreneurship with Islamic Finance’ recently.
Held at CIBFM, at the Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Advancement (ILIA) Building of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) campus, the programme is one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of CIBFM, which is supported by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD).
The programme was specially designed for university graduates who have actively been looking for employment for more than three years.
The aim of the programme was to provide participants with knowledge regarding concepts of Islamic finance in daily financial transactions and to enhance their entrepreneurship skills. The proceedings began with a presentation from Dr Mohd Hairul Azrin bin Haji Besar, a lecturer at the UBD School of Business and Economics, regarding the application of Islamic finance in conducting business.
The programme also served as an interactive platform where participants were guided in the preparation of working papers for their business ideas before presenting them to a panel comprising Pengiran Zainul Asri bin Pengiran Abdul Razak, a representative from DARe (Darussalam Enterprise); Omar Rana, founder and Director of Finalytix and founder and Partner of Eleva8or; and Dayangku Hajah Saerah binti Pengiran Haji Petra, Lecturer at the UBD School of Business and Economics.
The event was attended by 40 local graduates from local and overseas educational institutions.
