UNISSA signs MoU with Indonesian university

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) continues to work closely in academics and research with other higher institutions overseas.

This was evident after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi (UNPAB), Medan, Indonesia, recently.

Signing on behalf of UNISSA was Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA.

UNPAB, Medan Indonesia was represented by Dr H Muhammad Isa Indrawan, Rector of UNPAB.

Also present at the signing of the MoU was Acting Deputy Rector of UNISSA, Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad.

The signing of the MoU between UNISSA and UNPAB is a platform for cooperation that can further strengthen the academic field, especially in spreading Dakwah to the Ummah in the archipelago.

The UNPAB Rector expressed appreciation to UNISSA for its support in working together to further develop the education sector, especially in Islamic studies.

In a dialogue session, UNISSA and UNPAB agreed to establish collaboration through seminars linked to the issue of Halal studies and Islamic Finance Conference, in addition to conducting joint research and exchanges of academic staff and students.

A general lecture was also held between the two universities. Among the topics presented were Analysis of Marriage Laws, by the Ulama in Aceh Indonesia, Analysis of Narcotics Criminal Penalties against Underage Children by Islamic Law and Positive Laws In Medan, Indonesia, Syariah Penal Code Order, 2013 Brunei Darussalam: Challenges and Implementation, and Development of Islamic Laws in Brunei Darussalam.
