Forum discusses various topics on Islamic finance

The Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM), with the support of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), organised the 2nd Muzakarah Ilmuan Kewangan Islam (MIKI) at the CIBFM, ILIA Building, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), recently.
With the theme, Rangkuman Kewangan melalui Kewangan Islam, the Muzakarah, moderated by Head of Financial Consumer Issues of AMBD Rina Hayane binti Haji Sumardi, saw five presentations delivered during the forum.
The topics were An Overview of Financial Inclusion through Islamic Finance by Manager (Syariah Finance) of AMBD Bibi Amadah binti Haji Rusli; Instrumen Pengedaran Semula Kewangan Islam by Syariah Executive Officer of Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) Haji Md Yusruddin bin Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Yahya and Takaful Sebagai Satu Cabang Kewangan Islam delivered by Chief Finance Officer from Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd Haji Azhar bin Haji Abu.
Also in attendance were AMBD officers, representatives from Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan TAIB, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Insurans Islam TAIB and State Mufti’s Office and lecturers from UBD, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
The MIKI is one of the CIBFM’s platforms for professional open discussion focussing on issues and trends in the Islamic Finance Industry in Brunei Darussalam.
