Workshop focuses on occupational health, safety practices

SYARIKAT Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd (STBD) held a Legal Workshop on Occupational Health and Safety Practices and Workmen Compensation in Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday. Acting Managing Director of STBD Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya was the guest of honour. Present at the workshop were employees of STBD and subsidiaries – Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK). Representatives of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) as well as members of the Brunei Insurance and Takaful Association (BITA) and Takaful Brunei’s Legal Panel were also present. Guest speakers Dr Nayake B Parakrama Balalla from B&T Consultant Sdn Bhd, Senior Labour Inspector Mohammad Noor Faizal bin Haji Mohammad Osmena and Hazmin Hatta bin Haji Hamzah from the Labour Department facilitated the workshop. The workshop highlighted occupational health and safety practices in Brunei Darussalam as well as the processes of the Workmen’s Compensation. This marks the third Legal Workshop conducted this year by STBD following their first Legal Workshop in January 2018 and Loss Adjusting Workshop in September 2018.
