HE Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) recently held a seminar titled ‘Challenges of Innovation: Quo Vadis Islamic Finance’ at Radisson Hotel.
The chief guest was Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) as Chairman of CIBFM Bhd.
The half-day seminar focussed on the challenges associated with innovation in Islamic finance, particularly with the increase in the use of financial technology (FinTech) applications in financial transactions and automation of banking processes. The seminar also addressed how Islamic finance can help support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and widespread Socially Responsible Investments (SRI).
The seminar was attended by over 50 participants from ministries and government agencies, financial and academia.
