The monitoring of halal food as well as ensuring the food and product on sale as well as certain services in the country needs to be taken into account by food operator in order to give confidence to the community in choosing food which is unquestionably halal. In ensuring the understanding of food operators in the country in adherence to the Halal Certificate and Halal Label (Amendment) Order 2017, the Halal Showcase Dialogue was held at the BRIDEX Convention Centre in Jerudong yesterday, as part of the Brunei Halal Showcase 2017, BruHAS.
The briefing was delivered by two representatives from the Halal Food Monitoring Section, Ministry of Religious Affairs and a Business Development Officer from the Brunei International Air Cargo Centre Sendirian Berhad, among other things touched on the procedure of applying halal certificate, the contents of the amendment of the halal certificate order as well as to raise awareness on the procedure of handling halal food.
